Transition is very important part in landscaping design especially if you want to create illusion in the garden that you create. For example if you want to create sense of close and distance you can use shorter plant and higher plants. This will make the garden look larger then actually is. Line.

The most structural principles in the landscape design are lines. This usually related to walkways, way bed, entry way move and flows. Straight line is forceful and give direct effect, while curvy lines is related to gentle natural, and effect of flowing.

Proportion.

Proportion usually account for size of element and the relation to each other. Among the all principle design proportion is one the most element that need to think and re think again. All the elements can be precisely planned and meet the proper proportion.
If you have small water feature for example you can place it in the corner of the garden. This would be the focal point for the wider area. The water it self create distinctive atmosphere for the surrounding area. Sitting area can located near to the water feature. All this aspect will make sense of pleasure to your garden. It is also advisable to put more variant of plant to make your landscape or garden live. Repetition is usually related to unity. The more variety of plant that you have, the more repetition you can make. Unity can be achieved with repetition of plant or object that will give the variety element and expression.
